Volendam

Volendam is a(nother) traditional fishing village turned tourist attraction. It's located on the coast of Ijsselmeer, which is the biggest (man-made) freshwater lake in Europe.

Zaanse Schans

Zaanse Schans is an old village turned tourist attraction. It's got the best (cliches) the Netherlands has to offer: cows, sheep, green fields, low lands, windmills, cheese farms, a clog factory, and hordes of Asian tourists.

Peace Palace- New Academic Building

The Academic Building of the Peace Palace contains the library, and conference rooms. We were using it as our reception area.

The red wall is an art piece by a Dutch artist, which contains the template of all the countries around the world.

Peace Palace VI

The Great Hall of Justice is the very hall room used by the International Court of Justice when it delivers its judgements.

We had the privilege of using it for the finals of our competition!!!

The bench, composed of 15 judges from 15 States around the world. (Unfairly) the 5 permenant members of the Security Council always has one representing judge each.

Peace Palace IV

Statue of Lady Justice donated by the United States.

Peace Palace III

First snow shower IV

Partly frozen Swan Lake

Attack of the storks... notice the one trying to 'break in' through the window. This house happens to be where the Nazi high commander to the Netherlands, Seyss-Inquart, used to live during the war.
Global warming brings a couple of (confused) migrating parakeets to the freezing climate of the Netherlands. Not something you see everyday.
