10 June 2007 was the date that the new Paris-Strasbourg High Speed Railway Line went into use. Whereas before the train took four and a half hours, now it only takes 2 hours and 20 minutes. In the future, the high speed line will link Paris with cities in Germany, Switzerland, and go as far as Vienna, or even Budapest!
To celebrate the event, there was a big festival at the Jardin des Deux Rives, symbolically located at the Franco-German border.
